Ashleigh + Sean Featured on The Wedding Row

Ashleigh & Sean’s Legare Waring House Wedding Featured On The Wedding Row

There is nothing that makes me happier than an intimate soiree that allows for attention to detail and your budget to be focused on what YOU want and not just a large guest count. Ashleigh and Sean did just that and she really thought about all of the details and wanted to make the day so special for her guests and her husband to be!

Invitation Suites

A Detail Photo You Don’t Want To Miss!

One of my favorite wedding day detail pictures is the invitation suite. I don’t know whether it is about those beautiful paper products, the colors, or the different fonts that make me swoon and just fall in love all over again with the details of the day. Also, if you have any interest in your wedding being featured on a blog, an invitation suite is a must have picture! Not to mention, it’s a beautiful keepsake and one you can admire for years to come!

Allison + Matt’s Legare Waring House Wedding Featured On The Wedding Row

Allison + Matt’s Legare Waring House Wedding

The moment I met Allison and her mom, Anita, I knew that this was a wedding I absolutely wanted to be a part of and couldn’t wait to get started! Allison walked into our office in downtown Charleston, with a big beautiful black lab who couldn’t contain his excitement, and neither could I. From the start I absolutely loved this couple and their family and couldn’t have asked for more thoughtful and kind people to work with and plan with diligently for over a year.

The beautiful natural colors chosen for their wedding day, the custom invitation to show off their venue, the bouquet ribbons, the funny but thoughtful grooms cake, and lets not forget my favorite touch… the oyster place cards. This couple made the right choices to stick within their budget and pull off their dream day. Everything was absolutely perfect and I would bet that their faces hurt the next day from their beaming smiles that lasted from start to finish. I seriously adore this couple – they never lost sight of what was important, they are extremely kind and thoughtful, and they made my job so fun. It never felt like work with them!

Thank you to the Wedding row for the fabulous feature that can be seen here and to all the amazing vendors that worked so hard to make sure this day was absolutely flawless! Cheers!

Including Your Fur Babies On Your Wedding Day – Our Tips & Link To Our Feature In Wedding Lovely

Some of our Furry Clients, Tips & Tricks, & A National Dog Day Feature

Yes, yes, yes! We LOVE when our couples include their beloved fur babies in their wedding day! How could you not include them? They are such a big part of your lives, so we absolutely want them to be a part of the day their humans officially unite.

Is your dog maybe not the most obedient? No problem, just bring them for a “first look” so you can snag some pictures and then send them home with a trusted sitter.

Do you have the perfect puppy? Some venues are totally fine with your dog being at the entire event, so just make sure you clear it with your venue if you prefer they stay and be a part of the whole day. Also, remember your surroundings. County parks in the lowcountry have lots of wild animals, so having your best friend off a leash and wandering around, may not be the safest thing to do!

A BIG thanks to Wedding Lovely for featuring some of our tips in their blog on National Dog Day – you seriously won’t want to miss these squeezable pups – so check it out here!

Check out these adorable photos and ideas from our couples including their pets on their big day…

Not Interested In Wearing A Veil? Have You Considered Flower Crowns or Head Pieces?

Flower Crowns & Head Pieces

Maybe a veil isn’t your thing – we totally get it! A fresh flower, flower crowns, jewels, head pieces or a stunning headband can be used as a fabulous accent piece or accessory! We love it when girls want to be a little edgy or steer away from a more traditional look. That definitely doesn’t take away from the beauty of being a bride and I have fallen in love with how some of our brides have accessorized. Be you and wear whatever makes you feel beautiful, and most importantly, whatever makes you feel like a bride!

How To Pick The Perfect Veil

What Type Of Veil Is Perfect For You?

A lot of brides don’t put much thought into a veil or even wanting one until they finally have that “veil experience.” You find yourself in a fabulous dress shop with the most important people in your life, and in the MOST perfect dress, and it really can’t get any better…. until…. you put on a veil.  Everything stops and suddenly you realize… YOU ARE GETTING MARRIED!  Cue the tears…

A veil is a super unique accessory that really makes a bride feel like a bride. Your veil is a fabulous way to show off your style, include a family heirloom, and/or compliment your dress – there are just SO many options! Also, if you are planning to do a first look, you can save the veil for the ceremony so that you still bring an element of surprise when you walk down the aisle.

Let’s take a look at some of our past brides and their absolutely fabulous veils….

The Cathedral Length Veil:

This is where the drama is at ladies! We love everything about these and they photograph so beautifully! Your veil may be a heirloom that means more to the person that first wore it than you may ever know or a beautiful way to include someone that is no longer with us. You can match scalloping, design, or lace with your dress or you can go with a simple cathedral length veil with no design and it will bring the same amount of beauty and drama. Sometimes the simpler the better…depending on your dress of course! I just love the softness and beauty it brings – I mean look at these pictures!!

The only thing to consider is if you are getting married outside, it may catch on the ground or the wind may be a problem. We have lots of solutions for that – so just chat with us if you need any pointers!

What Kind Of Transportation Should I Get For The Exit?

Picking The Perfect Sendoff

This is another super popular question and something we always remind our couples to save some room for in the budget! No matter what – you need a ride home! It’s rare that we see a couple want to drive themselves, so make sure you put some thought into this. We have couples that prefer to save some money and get an Uber or a Cab – that is perfectly fine – just make sure you have a plan in place. You certainly don’t want to be in charge of calling or setting up your ride home. Others want something a bit more fun….

Here are some FABULOUS rides that are couples have taken home:

Carriage Ride

There is nothing more sweet and southern than a carriage ride! Of course these carriages are a bit limited to where they can travel, but Charleston has several carriage services and some specific to weddings. This definitely adds some romance to your day and gives you two some time to be alone. If you are considering using a carriage, we recommend that you use one following the ceremony when it is still light out and take advantage of the carriage bringing  you to different locations for photos. There are some instances where you can use carriages for your reception exit as well, but the location of your reception and your final destination will make a difference in whether or not this is possible.

What is the Best Way to Exit Your Wedding?

Special Exits For Special Couples

We get this question ALL the time! First thing you want to do is check your venue contract. Several venues have very specific rules about the types of exits that are allowed, so before heading to Pinterest and spending your valuable time coming up with an exit, you will want to see what is permissible at your specific venue. We see a lot of couples put a lot of time and energy into these exits, which is super fun, but don’t feel obligated to do it – it’s your wedding – spend your time and money anyway you want!

We always recommend checking in with your photographer and following their recommendations, because they will of course be the ones to capture it. They can always give some great insight into what has worked the best for them and if they aren’t going to be there for the exit, it may not make sense to do an evening exit. In this case, we generally recommend to plan a fun exit following your ceremony, so they are there to capture that. Exits are very difficult to capture because there is typically no light, so you will definitely want to make sure if you have something super fun planned – you will want a professional photographer there to capture it for you and let them know in advance what you have planned.

Check out our fabulous couples and what they have done for their exits:

The Sparkler Exit

First up is the sparkler exit. This is by far the most popular, but also one of the most common exits not allowed at venues, so be sure to check your contract before you purchase anything! I would say this is probably a photographers favorite as well because it provides light and creates a beautiful picture. It’s probably a planners least favorite – depending on how much your guests drink! haha. We have certainly been burned before, and we have seen guests almost burn couples as well – so you may want to keep that in mind if your guests like to party!
